Books??? WTF!

First off dont flame me if u dont agree but this is sumthing i just have to know, second when i say books im refering to novels and stuff. I was thinkin about why books are so commonly used and realized they are a complete waste of time and effort. Most books now-a-days have no educational value. they are just stories made up by people with alot of time on thier hands. now im not saying that there arent good story tellers out there but making a book to me is pointless. Books are obsolete now because a large majority of the country has internet access and everything is on the internet. from my experiences i hate reading books but if i were to find the same book on the internet i can spend hours upon hours reading. books shoulndt be used for stories they should be used for educational purposes, but yet again using sites such as howstuffworks.com, about.com, etc. would probly be more appealing to alot of people. Maybe its because of interactive aspect of using a computer, idk.

What is your oppinon about this? are books useless and everything should be put on the internet? do you think reading books contributes to some part of todays society? If u dont agree can u at least see where im coming from with this? basically put whateve u want about books here
